More Wonderland Fun

Elyse is 2 years 5 months and Kealan is 3 years 9 months.

Recently we were very lucky to have an Alice in Wonderland family fun day to go to which tied in very well with the completion of Our New Wonderland Playroom and our Mad Hatters Tea Party Play Date.

Mum came with us which was wonderful, it was a long drive and with so much to see and do it was lovely to have her with us.  When we arrived we met Alice and then Kealan and Elyse had their faces painted.  The weather was lovely and the atmosphere was amazing.

Next we met the Queen of Hearts, the White Rabbit and the Cheshire Cat.

They decorated jam tarts with the Mad Hatter and met Tweedledum and Tweedledee.

We enjoyed simple activities like searching for golden keys in the walled garden and Mr Bloom from Cbeebies put on a little show too.  But the best fun of all were the sack races.  This was their first time at this but Kealan did really well without any help and even missy was trying it on her own after about 20 goes with me.

Long exhausting day but so glad we went.  They are both so in to the Wonderland story now and getting to be a bunny made Elyses week.

With Kealan settled at school Elyse and i now have some precious time together so we began work on some Alice in Wonderland printables.  I was really impressed with her pen skills.  She found this page much easier than her older brother.

She did well with simple ‘which one is different’ but had no patience for the less obvious ones.  We also tried some counting activities with minimal success.

Shadow matching and arranging the Cheshire Cats in size order were much more appealing and she completed them with ease.

Some pictures of our work on the letter A and colours.  We didnt do any craft activities this week as we were busy preparing for our play date but we’ve had great fun with this topic.

Next week – Autumn focus
